Burton’s energy efficiency programs focus on reducing energy intensity at both the property level and across portfolios. We work with our clients to decipher the information gained via utility data management and to implement operational and capital improvement projects, all designed to increase efficiency and reduce operating costs.
SCROLL
Improve Your Energy Consumption
Energy Audits are an important first step to improve profitability and reduce the environmental footprint of facilities. Burton has seasoned and accredited energy engineers who understand not only the fundamentals of energy management, but also the realities of operating different kinds of facilities.
An energy audit addresses all major energy end use equipment, control systems, and available utility incentives which may help to offset implementation costs.
We work with our clients to understand their return-on-investment objectives and identify projects that meet those criteria.
Our Energy Efficiency Services
Operational improvements impact all client assets and may entail process changes, modifications to equipment specifications and purchasing practices, and/or employee training and education sessions. One of the cornerstones of Burton’s energy management approach with our clients is implementing a standardized set of energy best practices across their portfolios.
While some of these operational strategies may seem like common sense, we often find that they are not commonly put into practice. Our clients typically see a reduction in energy consumption of 5% or more from these operational improvements.
Retro-commissioning (RCx) can be used to help a facility and its systems operate at an optimum level to meet current and anticipated future requirements (not necessarily its original design). RCx focuses primarily on operational and controls related issues to fine-tune the operation and maximize the performance of systems to drive energy savings. As a result, recommended RCx measures can typically be implemented for minimal or no cost.
Burton is an approved RCx service provider in several utility sponsored RCx programs. These programs can provide significant incentives, and the cost of the study may even be fully funded by the utility in some cases. Burton supports our clients in navigating the application phase, performing the site assessment, report deliverables, and performing all aspects of measurement and verification (M&V).
