Legislation has been proposed in the U.S. Senate that will require states to receive at least 25% of their electricity from renewable energy. There are currently Renewable Energy Standards (RES; also known as Renewable Portfolio Standards, RPS) in 30 states. Requiring all states to shift up to 25% of their energy generation to cleaner technologies will have a profound impact on how we use electricity in the United States. Do you think this will have a net positive or negative impact on our domestic economy? What could this mean for businesses and taxpayers?
