Hawaii state legislators are pushing to make Hawaii the first US state to use 100% clean energy by 2050. This ambitious goal applies to electricity generation, as well as ground transportation. Hawaii currently has a goal of reaching 40% renewable energy by 2030.

The plan includes importing LNG to help lower consumer bills, modernizing electricity grids, focusing on clean energy transportation goals, extending the oil tax and creating a renewable program that would allow more people to use solar energy.
