Policy Watch: EU Unveils Energy Policy Goals

Craig, our Energy Policy Watch Dog, found this new interesting topic for our weekly POLICY WATCH… 

The European Commission, the EU’s executive body which represents the interests of Europe as a whole, has released energy and carbon emission goals for the continent to achieve by 2030. The provisions include a 40% reduction of carbon emissions (from 1990 levels) and a standard of 27% of energy production coming from renewables.

Some have criticized the measures as not being aggressive enough, however it is encouraging to see policymakers thinking forward and setting long-term goals for energy production and sourcing.
