After rallying to $3.903 the week of Thanksgiving, the December natural gas contract declined sharply during the last three days of trading to settle at $3.696/MMBtu.  Natural gas has historically rallied to its peak around November 24th and it appears this year, the peak happened November 23rd.  This is a 6.5% increase to the November 2012 contract and is nearly 10% above the December 2011 settlement.  The 2012 strip price averaged $2.789, which is the lowest a calendar year has averaged since 1999.
