Our Neighborhood
Our office is located in historic Roswell, Georgia. Conveniently situated just north of Atlanta, the area has a distinct personality, unique arts and crafts shops, exceptional restaurants, creative retail outlets and beautiful parks. Take a look at some of our favorite places in the neighborhood.
Just a short walk from our office is the historic Roswell Mill. The Mill is a group of upscale shops sitting adjacent to the Chattahoochee River. Behind this set of shops are the remnants of the cotton mill around which the town of Roswell was built. When the Civil War began, the old Roswell Mill produced the famous "Roswell Gray" that is so closely associated with the Rebel troops. During the Atlanta Campaign, Roswell Mill was a major target for Sherman's forces. He ordered Brigadier General Kennar Garrard to advance and take the mill and attempt to secure the bridge across the Chattahoochee River south of the mill.
Today the one remaining mill building is part of a series of great hiking trails maintained by the Roswell Historic Society. Just beyond the new covered footbridge is this beautiful waterfall. Many of the Burton team members are avid hikers and can be spotted along the various trails along the river. CEO George is often the "lead dog" on these types of nature expeditions.
To check out the trail maps for yourself, visit GeorgiaTrails.com or Vickery Creek Trail website.
Just across from The Roswell Mill is the historic Roswell Square. The Square is the site of festivals, craft shows and concerts. There are also several excellent restaurants and shops. Across the street is the historic Bulloch Hall, the home of Theodore Roosevelt's mother, Mittie Bulloch. The home is open daily for tours.
Just a stone's throw down the road is one of our very favorite places to visit, sit down and enjoy a great cup of coffee and conversation. The Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee House has a great laid back atmosphere, and you will often find a member of our team taking a break and enjoying the impressive French Press coffee. The shop owners use their profits to invest in sustainable village projects in Rwanda, and we are proud to play a small part in that effort almost every day!
The allure of the flashing "HOT NOW" sign at the Roswell Krispy Kreme just down the street is not lost on the Burton team. The wonderful aroma of fresh doughnuts often comes right from our office on Friday mornings. Come by, and we might just make a Krispy Kreme run in your honor!
