Tim Leigh Joins Burton Energy Group.
Roswell, GA - Tim Leigh has joined Burton Energy Group as a partner, announced the company’s founder, Brent Burton. Leigh will be responsible for managing clients’ energy risk management, hedging programs, and energy purchasing strategy. He will also drive demand side initiatives, working with Company alliances and clients.
Said Burton, “Tim’s knowledge and experience in supply side management and energy sustainability fit perfectly with our mission at Burton Energy Group. He is much respected and well connected within the commercial sector, particularly the retail market. In addition, Tim was an integral part in growing an energy services company from the ground up, and that experience will be invaluable in our own development and growth.”
Leigh has more than 20 years experience working in U.S. energy markets. Previously, Leigh served as Supply and Risk Management Director for Macy’s energy procurement and risk policy. In 2007, he developed and implemented a corporate sustainability program for Macy’s that included launching a $70 million solar/energy efficiency program resulting in generating 10MW of power and was recognized by the EPA as one of the most outstanding Green Power Programs of the year.
Before Macy’s, Leigh was with The Southern Company for ten years and a Senior Manager in Accenture’s energy practice. He co-founded Service Resources, Inc., driving their energy services program. In addition to his responsibilities at Burton, Leigh also serves on the National Retail Federation’s Sustainability Leadership Council.
Tim received his BME from Auburn University and has attended a number of graduate programs including Corporate Venturing at Northwestern University. He resides with his family in Marietta, GA.
