Burton Energy Group and Hersha Hospitality Management complete energy services agreement.
Roswell, GA - Burton Energy Group and Hersha Hospitality Management executed a contract to provide energy management services for the portfolio of Hersha hotels. Burton will provide their full suite of services, including utility bill management, commodity purchasing, energy and water conservation, annual utility budget guidance and internet-based reports.
Ed Pietzak, Vice President of Construction and Design at Hersha, noted that “Burton offers exactly what we are looking for in the form of a fully outsourced energy management program. As part of our due diligence we contacted some of their clients and their reputation is impeccable. Through our membership with the AH&LA we saved 20%, making the decision even easier to partner with Burton.”
Brent Burton, principal of Burton Energy Group, “After being introduced to Ed in New York and the Hersha Energy Committee in Philadelphia, it is obvious they understand the critical role effective energy management plays in lowering utility usage and costs. Most of their assets are concentrated in four metropolitan areas – Boston, New York, Philadelphia and Washington. All of these markets are deregulated and have historically high utility costs, which translates to both supply and demand side savings opportunities”.
The energy services agreement is for one year with the option to renew at any time during the term of the contract.
