June 2007
FelCor Lodging Trust and Burton Energy Group initiate major energy conservation campaign.

Roswell, GA - FelCor Lodging Trust approved capital for a comprehensive energy conservation program that will include more efficient lighting at all core hotels.  Most FelCor assets will also be upgraded to guestroom energy management systems.  Burton Energy Group will coordinate the conservation effort, with product installation to immediately follow the renovation schedule where feasible.  The projected timetable for completion is 18 months.

Troy Pentecost, Executive VP Asset Management, remarked “to date we have experienced some great returns on our energy capital spend.  Knowing the potential this type of program offers in return on investment indicates that we should accelerate our installations to convert all of our hotels as soon as possible.  This will allow us to increase EBITDA per hotel going forward.”

Brent Burton, principal of Burton Energy Group, agreed “we have been fortunate to consistently reduce energy costs at FelCor and energy conservation initiatives deployed to date are a major reason.  This program takes what we have already accomplished and expands it tenfold.  It is a testament to Troy and the FelCor Energy Committee to get this approved.”
