ALPHARETTA, Ga., April 6, 2017 — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has named Burton Energy Group (Burton) a 2017 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence Award winner for continued leadership in protecting our environment through superior energy efficiency achievements. Burton Energy Group’s accomplishments will be recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy in Washington, D.C. on April 26, 2017.
Burton Energy Group, an ENERGY STAR partner since 2008, will be honored for being one of the most outstanding American providers of energy efficiency services to the commercial and industrial marketplaces, and for continuing to drive new services focused on water and waste reduction in 2016. Some of Burton’s key accomplishments over the past year include the expansion of our Retro-commissioning (RCx) service offering and the benchmarking of more than 2,200 buildings, with 129 buildings earning first time ENERGY STAR Certification and 126 buildings obtaining ENERGY STAR Re-Certification.
“As an energy consulting company, the ENERGY STAR program provides the foundation for what we do regarding energy conservation and efficiency,” said Doug Latulippe, Director of Project Management at Burton Energy Group. “It delivers the tools, resources and strategies for a comprehensive and successful energy program. I have personally used the ENERGY STAR guidelines along with their step-by-step road map for continuous improvement to educate Fortune 500 clients, state energy agencies and elementary school classes on industry best practices for energy efficiency improvement. As the most recognized energy program in the United States, it is an honor to be named again as a Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence. We look forward to continued success with the EPA and ENERGY STAR delivering energy conservation and environmental stewardship for many years to come.”
In 2015 alone, ENERGY STAR and its partners saved American businesses and consumers 503 billion kilowatt hours and $34 billion dollars on their energy bills, while achieving broad emission reductions.
The 2017 Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence Awards are bestowed upon a diverse set of organizations that have demonstrated continued leadership in energy efficiency. Winners hail from small, family-owned businesses to Fortune 500 organizations – representing energy-efficient products, services, new homes, and buildings in the commercial, industrial, and public sectors.
