Burton Energy Group, an ENERGY STAR partner since 2009, is being honored for its work in helping companies reduce their consumption of energy and water. In 2013 these contributions included benchmarking and tracking the energy consumption of more than 1,800 facilities on a monthly basis, helping a dozen clients enroll in the ENERGY STAR National Building Competition, and educating clients in a number of ways about the benefits of ENERGY STAR tools and processes for commercial and industrial buildings.

“We are honored to be receiving this award for the second straight year, and appreciative for our partnership with ENERGY STAR,” said Brent Burton, the founder and a Managing Partner at Burton Energy Group. “This award is a reflection of the work performed on behalf of our clients. They rely on us to help them achieve their goals related to energy efficiency and sustainability, and we’re thankful for that opportunity.”

Through 2013, with help from ENERGY STAR, American families and businesses have saved $297 billion on utility bills and prevented more than 2.1 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions.

“Burton Energy Group is helping customers reduce energy use and costs while protecting the environment,” said EPA Deputy Administrator Bob Perciasepe. “By utilizing Burton’s energy-efficient offerings, customers can impact climate change through greater energy efficiency.”

The 2014 Partner of the Year Awards are given to a variety of organizations to recognize their contributions to reducing greenhouse gas emissions through superior energy efficiency. Award winners are selected from the 16,000 organizations that participate in the ENERGY STAR program.
