Energy and Water Conservation

The Energy and Water Conservation program focuses on consumption of energy and water at the property level. We will work with you to decipher the information gained via utility data management and implement operational efficiency and capital improvement projects.

Integrated Energy Management Components

Operational Activities are typically designed to impact all client assets, and may entail process changes, modifications to equipment specifications and purchasing practices, or employee training and education sessions. These activities also involve identifying key energy efficiency best practices.

Capital Improvement projects often only affect select facilities. They typically make an immediate impact at those facilities with the highest energy and/or water consumption. When combined, these efficiencies often enable clients to qualify for the EPA Energy Star Program.

Since incorporation, Burton has conducted extensive research and worked with various suppliers that market energy and water conservation products. This work has involved:

  • Visits to manufacturing facilities and corporate headquarters to interview management and engineering staff
  • Rigid, independent product tests to validate supplier assertions
  • Participation in industry conferences and workshops to further research efforts
  • Interviews with customers to determine their experience with product suppliers
  • Analysis of all demand side initiatives deployed by our clients

Burton has prioritized the top suppliers and developed working relationships with many of these companies. Burton provides clients with best-in-class supplier rankings, documentation about suppliers and their products, and contact information. This saves our clients considerable capital, time and resources.
